Dick Morris to Join Bill Frist and Others in Nashville
September 24, 2008 - (Birmingham, AL) - IMS®, Integrated Medical Systems International, Inc.™, will sponsor Dick Morris, former Clinton adviser, Fox News contributor and New York Times bestseller author at a national healthcare panel in Nashville on Tuesday, October 7.
The event, hosted by the Nashville Health Care Council, will cover the future challenges of healthcare in light of the coming Presidential election. "When IMS learned that the Council was interested in having Dick Morris share his perspectives on the Presidential race and his analysis of the possible impact of the election on healthcare on the same day as the Presidential Debate in Nashville, we were pleased to be able to offer our support for the event by sponsoring Dick," said Steve Cullen, IMS chief strategy officer.
Joining Dick Morris and the panel chair, former U.S. Senator Bill Frist, will be John Podesta, chief of staff to President Bill Clinton and president and COO for the Center for American Progress; Chris Jennings, president of Jennings Policy Strategies and former senior healthcare advisor to President Bill Clinton; and Charles "Chip" Khan III, president of the Federation of American Hospitals and one of the nation’s experts on policy and healthcare issues.
"Dick expects the country could experience a sea change in healthcare after the 2008 elections and cost control would need to be an essential element of any national policies on healthcare," said Cullen. IMS also believes that cost controls and efficiencies achieved through process improvement are critical for the success of healthcare customers, and that is the focus of IMS divisions like Surgeon Support Solutions (S3).
IMS S3 programs implement and manage proven process improvement strategies in the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Department, eliminating inefficiencies and increasing throughput and surgeon satisfaction. Through the elimination of inefficiencies, hospitals who engage IMS S3 have experienced an increase in efficiencies and surgeon satisfaction, which has resulted in a 12% average surgical case volume increase.
